Hello, beautiful people from across the lands! My blogging journey has been interesting at times and stressful. There were just so many things I didn’t know I should know. Discovering these blogging tools has made blogging a lot more enjoyable and seamless. I am a big advocate for creating systems that help toward goal achievement. Before I discovered these blogging tools there was just so much I did not get done. In this post, I am going to share 5 powerful blogging tools that have helped me along my blogging journey.
Editorial Calendar
Having an editorial calendar is golden. I literally just discovered this a few months ago and I have been at this blogging thing for almost 3 years! With the editorial calendar plugin, it allows you to schedule your blog post. This is nice to have a visual layout of all the content that is coming. This has been a huge help in keeping me consistent for my August consistency challenge.
Ubersuggest
SEO is a term you will begin to love and hate in this digital business space. SEO stands for search engine optimization which is vital to understand your blog. SEO is how people will find you when they are searching for your niche. You want your blog to come as a recommended source in their search. Ubersuggest is a huge help in providing keywords in your niche and data behind those keywords. Knowing this information allows you to be more intentional in your writing and posting on social sites. Ubersuggest even provides a free audit of your site making you aware of things that are hurting your SEO ranking.
Headline Tools
Having a strong headline for your blog post is key in getting people to actually click on your work. There are some free resources that will grade your headline and provide feedback on how to make it better. Bluehost recently has this feature embedded in the site itself. Either way, these are some sites to utilize to check your headlines
Creative Market Place
Drafting a blog post is just one aspect to blogging. Having imagery to go along with it is vital. This can be overwhelming for beginners who may not be gifted with graphic design. Creative Market Place provides affordable customizable templates for your graphic needs. This is a huge time saver and will really make a difference in your marketing strategy.
Mobile Menu
85% of the traffic to my site is from a mobile device. It is important to have a mobile-friendly website for great user experience. Having a mobile menu creates ease when a reader lands on your site. Most bloggers fail to talk about this at the beginning of starting a blog. You want to be sure your site is easy to navigate on multiple devices especially mobile.
Action Steps to Take NOW
Step 1: Identify at least two tools to begin utilizing
Step 2: Once you choose your tools, take time to get familiar with its features and understand its functions
Step 3: After using tools for at least two weeks analyze if they are worth continuing to use
Conclusion
Being made aware of these tools from the beginning it would have saved me so much stress. Most of my blogging struggles are from not having a system made clear to me. These resources have allowed me to streamline many of the processes when drafting, writing, and promoting a blog post. Blogging is more than just typing up some pretty words. There are many other components that go into it that can become overwhelming if there is no system in place. Having these tools available to me has allowed me to get more done efficiently.
