Hello, beautiful people from across the lands! Today I wanted to give you a sneak peek into my world. I wanted to provide a little transparency into what it may look like for those who are trying to balance this thing full-time work with a business on the side. In this post, I will share my wins, losses, tips, and more. Let’s get into it!

Morning

Now I’m not going to lie, my goal is to start at 5 am but it’s more like 8 am most mornings. The hubs is actually more of a morning person than I am. He is often up before I am. I like to start my morning off with hot tea and light breakfast. I have now added drinking a gallon of water with this motivating water bottle.

Kids are distance learning so getting fed and ready to go is a must. I have a team huddle with my current job (emphasizes on current!) at 9 am. The kiddos are logged into school by 8:50 am starting off with morning meeting. We are all glued to screens at this point

Afternoon

I usually take my lunch break with kids if I don’t have any meetings going on for work. I like to use this time to go outside for fresh air and sun. We will sometimes take lunch outside just to get a little movement in. Then back to my computer until about 3:30 pm. The kids are done with school by 2:20 pm and grabbing for snacks.

Late Afternoon/Evening

This may sound old but I usually nap right after work just about every other day. It is something about being in front of a computer all day that is just exhausting. From the Zoom calls, conference meetings, and all the things that just seemed to intensify takes a lot out of you. I am grateful I have a job that can be done from home but the struggle is real. I do not like to cook everyday, I am more of a every other day cook. So depending on the day dinner prep begins around 5 pm. Kids are in bed by 8 pm and I am back at my computer. From 8-11 pm I usually work on the blog.

I really want to find another window to get this done but the way my life is set up now this is it. I am trying to create a schedule for my business so I am not consumed with it every day. Trust me the hustle comes with some pain points. Hubs is not too fond of me being on the computer all day. I definitely have to work on finding a more suitable structure. There is no blueprint for this thing and I honestly feel by myself in this entrepreneur journey. I just hope in the end it’s all worth it.

Action Steps to Take NOW

1st Step: Enjoy

2nd Step: Some

3rd Step: Wine

Conclusion

Balancing it all has its ups and downs. To be brutally honest I feel more unbalanced than balanced most days. However I am grateful I have the opportunity to be a mom, still have a job, and build my dreams.

Until next time dream, believe, and achieve.

How do you balance work life/entrepreneurship during these interesting times?
