Hello, beautiful people from across the lands. Are you tired of me saying that? Oh well! You are beautiful where ever you may be reading this and as long as you’re spending time with me I’m going to keep telling you so get use to it! Anywho, the last post we got into the reasons why I choose to start blogging and where I want it to go. If you have not read that, pause and go back to be up to speed.
Don’t worry these words will be here waiting for you. I want to get into the pros and cons I found in blogging thus far in my journey. September 12th will mark 1 full year I have been blogging. In this short period, I have found some things that I like and don’t like so much about blogging. If you’re interested in starting your own blog, thought about it for a short second, or just want a heads up on what to expect, this post may be helpful.
Pros
It is fairly inexpensive to start a blog. The investment is small and the gaining potential is substantial. Blogging for me has helped me grow in my creativity and holding myself accountable for telling my story.
Blogging also opens other doors for other ventures like creating digital products, books, speaking engagement and much more. In the process of building this brand, you meet amazing people along the way. Every comment, like, subscribe, and follow means a lot to me. It’s inspiring to know that you can be spending your time anywhere else but you chose to spend it with me.
Cons
One of the biggest cons for me in blogging is the learning curve. There are a lot of contributing pieces that go into growing a blog and there can be some misleading information out there. I will not say blogging is terribly hard but there is just so much I do not know right now that is slowing the growing potential down. Now that is not an excuse to not get started but it can be a barrier.
Most information out there is limited and to get the nitty-gritty you have to pay that bill. Which I total get to make money you have to spend money. But you need to be mindful if that is the smart move for you right now.
Now don’t get me wrong there is a lot of free information out there that can get you on track and off to a decent start. Sometimes the start point is a few meters behind others. But great things take time.
I do not regret my decision to become a blogger and I’m honestly excited to see where my consistent effort and hustle will take me. I’m tired of the start and stop, it’s robbing me of my time and earning potential.
I hope whatever path your own to making dreams a reality you push through and succeed no matter how many times you missed the mark. Until next time dream, believe and achieve.
