Hello, beautiful people from across the lands! I did it! I completed the 30-day content consistency challenge! {Inserts butterfly dance} This challenge has pushed me as a creator, writer, momma, friend, and foe! The last 30 days have been realer than real. Life had a way of happening, losing a dear cousin during this challenge was something I never saw coming. May his soul rest with God.
The reality is trials and tribulations are happening to us all and it could care less about our little pretty goals set out. Despite that the push to continue as long as there is breath in your body gives purpose. In this post, I am going to share the wins and losses during this challenge in hopes to motivate you to start one of your own.
Wins
Increased Traffic & Exposure
Yo! The traffic to my website has increased so much during this challenge. To see the numbers increased in such a drastic way provided me enough proof that consistency pays! Literally! As a blogger, the goal is to get eyeballs on your site. Do not be swayed by visible likes and shares.
It can feel defeating after putting all the work in to get two likes and one of them was you! But analytics becomes your new best friend because you are able to see on the backend what is really going on. In just 30 days I was able to gain traffic numbers that usually happen within a YEAR! These numbers are still on the low side but this is big progress for me as a blogger.
Sharpened Skills
Drafting blog posts, creating images, and then marketing every single day has definitely sharpened my skills as a blogger. Doing this consistently forced me to evaluate my system in getting things done. I talk about this more in-depth in this post. I am now able to get 3-5 blog post done in one sitting! That is crazy because it used to literally take me days just to complete one. Doing the task needed to run a blogging business every day helped me become more proficient at completing those tasks. I still have ways to go but I ain’t where I started!
Collaborations!
This by far has been the most rewarding. I’ve been contacted to host a financial workshop on basic budgeting skills and be a brand ambassador for an woman empowering brand! Like what?! I am super excited and can not wait to share more as these projects unfold.
Losses
Sleep!
Need I say more. Ya girl has lost A LOT of sleep. In the beginning I had a nice amount of content batched that it started off pretty good. The mistake I made was not working ahead of the batch content and I definitely paid for it. Lots of long nights and early mornings.
Relationships
Have you texted or called me lately? If it was during blogging hours I’m sorry ok. I know my friends and family still love me but I have not been available. Lack of sleep caused me to be a little more cranky than usual and isolating. I know folk from work felt my little tude from time to time but I’m not fired so we are good! No, but seriously this took a lot of work and time. Every piece of content I pushed out was created and marketed by me and only me. The day will come when I can hire a Virtual Assistant!
Action Steps to Take Now
Thinking about starting a consistency challenge of some sort? I got you! Take these three simple steps to get started.
1st Step: Identify one growth building task that you would like to focus on to grow your business
2nd Step: Set a date for when you plan to start your 30 day challenge
